Occupation: Motivational Speaker and Education Advocate
Bio: Mr. Craig Q. King is a native of Manning, South Carolina and currently resides in Columbia, South Carolina. He serves as Director of Teacher Leadership for the Palmetto State Teachers Association and Call Me MiSTER Site Coordinator at Columbia College. He is also the CEO/Founder the Craig King Group, LLC and a Communications Consultant with Blacksheep Unleashed. Mr. King is the author of the book The Path to Exceptional Living: 15 Lessons to Living an Extraordinary Life and co-podcaster of the Conversations with Craig & Kobie Podcast.
He is a 2004 and 2007 graduate of South Carolina State University where he received his B.S. in Elementary Education and his Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. He is a former third grade teacher and taught at Whittaker Elementary School in Orangeburg, South Carolina for seven years. He is the 2007-2008 District Teacher of the Year for Orangeburg Consolidated School District Five and the recipient of the 2008 Charles Dickerson Community Service Award given to one South Carolina teacher for service to the community.
Mr. King is passionate about service and uplifting his community. He is the director of the children’s ministry at The Brook Columbia. Mr. King is a mentor and counselor for children with cancer and volunteers with Prisma Health Children’s Hospital and Camp Kemo Programs. He currently serves as chair of the Camp Kemo Programs Advisory Council. He is the co-founder of Craig Q. King’s Celebration of Life Gala. Along with his family and support from the community, over $120,000 has been raised for cancer research and programs that support individuals affected by cancer. Mr. King has partnered with United Ministries of Manning, SC and Friends of the Homeless of Columbia, SC to collect food, clothes, and raise money for the homeless and needy. He is also an Adopt a Highway Program participant to ensure the roads of South Carolina remain litter free.
He is married to Tasia King and they have one daughter, Saniah. He is a proud 22-year cancer survivor and understands his purpose in life is to capture, inspire, teach, and serve the people of the world!
